FELIPE LEIVA FADIC
Bachelor of Legal and Social Sciences from Universidad de Chile´s Law School (2010) and Master of Laws (LLM) from the University College London (2013).
He develops in arbitration, civil and commercial proceedings (in the construction area, among others), and administrative contentious disputes.
He started his professional career as an associate in the litigation area of the firm Alvarez Hinzpeter & Jana (2006-2009). He later joined the area of dispute resolution in Carey & Cía. (2009-2010), where he met the ones who would later become his partners at Ovalle Ugarte Letelier & Leiva (2010-2011), law firm specialized in dispute resolution. Later, he became part of the litigation practice at Del Río y Parraguez, Estudio (Law Firm) Juan Agustín Figueroa (2012-2015) and, together with his former partners, founded the litigation boutique Ugarte & Leiva (2015-2017).
In the educational area, he was a teacher in several courses of Civil Heritage Law and Constitutional Law of the School of Law of Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (2009-2014), as well as an invited teacher of the Master in Business Law at the same University (2014-2015). He previously worked as an assistant teacher in Civil Law of the School of Law of Universidad de Chile (2007-2008).
He is an appointed member of the Young Arbitrators List at the Santiago Arbitration and Mediation Centre (CAM) of Santiago Chamber of Commerce.
Apart from being a member at Colegio de Abogados de Chile A.G. (Chilean Bar Association A.G.), he is currently one of the judges of the Ethics Tribunal at said institution, in office from 2015-2019.
He is a partner at the Asociación por las Libertades Públicas (Association for Public Liberties), where he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2015 to 2017.
He is also a member of Sociedad Chilena de Derecho de la Construcción (Chilean Construction Law Society).
Some of his acknowledgements include having been awarded the Grant Becas Chile and winning the Fulbright Grant for his LLM 2012-2013.
